Personal training is more than exercise; together with your trainer, you examine all aspects of your lifestyle to ensure that you are getting the most out of the time you devote to fitness. Along with your gym membership, personal training is one of the most important investments you can make in your long-term health and vitality.
Through personal training, you work with an educated and experienced trainer to develop a customized fitness program that focuses on your personal fitness goals. Training sessions emphasize proper form, technique, and nutritional requirements.
Personal training is beneficial for:
- weight loss or weight gain
- building strength
- improving mobility
- teens struggling with self-esteem and body image
- injury prevention
- pre- and post-natal care
- pre- and post-surgery rehabilitation
- rehabilitation from long-term illness
- seniors looking to maintain bone density and strength
- perimenopause and menopause care
- athletes looking to improve their individual performance
- management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, osteoporosis, arthritis, and others
- training for an event that will test your physical limits such as hiking, long-distance cycling, paddling the Rideau River, or a fitness competition such as the Army Run, Ironman, and others
We also offer FitLab, a virtual personal training program, for individuals who wish to train in their home environment.

With over 20 years of experience coaching, he is passionate about sharing his experience with others to help people move and feel better so they can enjoy life and activities more freely.
His current focus is on physical longevity through exploring the mechanics of natural and athletic movement, connecting the body from the ground up, through the fascial lines, and strengthening the body for the natural purpose it was designed for: locomotion. By design, humans were meant to be supple and dynamic movers. Why people love Rick: Rick believes that although our modern lifestyle may have reduced our movement capacity, it is never too late to restore that capacity. Through fitness coaching, he takes the time to work on these “mechanics of movement” to help others relieve pain, restore natural movement, improve performance, and reduce the risk of injury.
Steve Sharp
Steve’s philosophy is simply that fitness is the easiest way to make you feel happy and healthy.
In his past work as a high school principal, Steve initiated strength and conditioning programs at three area high schools to encourage students to take an active role in their health. His approach to fitness training puts people at ease as they move forward in their fitness journey.
The key to each client’s personal journey to a more active lifestyle is consistency. For people to commit to regular workouts and stay active fitness has to be enjoyable. To be enjoyable, individuals need to participate in activities in a supportive environment and have measurable results. To see results, people need to come to their workouts with a plan. Steve works to create individual plans to track progress, keep activities fresh, and efficiently uses his client’s available workout time.
