Safety Protocols at our Fitness Centre

Enhanced Vaccine Certificate Program
The Ontario government announced an enhanced vaccine certificate program on September 1. Beginning September 22, we are required to obtain proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (two doses plus 14 days) along with photo ID for members of our fitness centre. Learn more about the process we’ve put in place for our members.

New Memberships:
New memberships are available in limited numbers. We are limiting the sale of new memberships each month so we can ensure the gym maintains comfortable traffic flow with current distancing requirements in place. Learn more about memberships.

The Ontario Government is allowing 50% capacity for fitness facilities. This means that 75 people will be able to use the regular gym areas at a time, and 25 spaces will be allotted for group classes.

Group Fitness:
Reservations are required to participate in our group fitness classes. Registration opens 72 hours before the class is scheduled to start. Book your time through our Heritage Fitness app or by calling the front desk at 613-253-2112. Drop-ins are welcome in our group classes if space is available.

Personal Training:
Personal training is available. Please contact your personal trainer or the fitness centre once we are open to book in your sessions. If you are new to personal training and would like to schedule time with one of our trainers, please call the front desk at 613-235-2112 and they will get you set up with someone who is a great fit for you and your goals.

Masks are to be worn in all common areas. The main training floor of the fitness centre and the rest of the building, beyond the threshold just past reception, is a mask optional area. Members are NOT required to wear a mask during a workout. Please respect people’s individual choice to wear, or not wear, a mask while training on the floor.

Term Memberships:
All term memberships will be extended for the duration that the gym was closed. In this case, an additional four months will be added to each term membership so clients don’t lose out on time missed due to provincial closures.

Monthly Autopay Memberships:
Autopay memberships will begin payments starting Monday, July 19th, 2021. If you would like to continue to keep your membership on hold, please call the front desk at 613-253-2112 or email us at A $20 hold fee will apply. Memberships can be held for 3-month periods at a time.

Client Safety:
Your safety is of utmost importance to us. Below are a few of the measures we have in place to keep you safe during your visit:

 Air Sanitization:

  • Installation of hospital-grade UV-C air sterilization systems on each of our ten HVAC units to kill 99.9% of viruses, bacteria, and mold
  • Seven heat recovery ventilators (HRVs) to bring in a constant flow of fresh air
  • Industrial exhaust fans to create negative air pressure and bring in fresh air

Surface Sanitization:

  • Use of hospital-grade antimicrobial vaporizers to disinfect surfaces
  • Use of CDC-recommended spray disinfectants for surfaces such as door handles, counters, switches, fitness equipment, and yoga props
  • Personal spray disinfectant bottles and towels provided to each exercise rehabilitation client, personal training client, and gym member for use while in our facility
  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizer distributed throughout the facility

General Protocols:
A few protocols to be aware of when you come in for your workout:

  • Please do not park in the parking spaces we have reserved for clients of the Collaborative Care Centre
  • Members will have their own disinfectant spray bottle and towel
  • Members must spray down equipment before and after use
  • Return spray bottles and towels to front desk when complete (members place towel in laundry basket marked ‘Dirty’
  • Each spray bottle will be wiped down, sanitizer will be topped up and placed back on the counter with a clean towel
  • Changerooms, lockers and showers will be available for use. We recommend that you arrive ready for your workout and only use these amenities if necessary.
  • We are not asking members about their COVID-19 vaccination status. We will continue to abide by the operational guidelines established by the Ontario government and our local health unit.

Contact Tracing:
We are obligated to take part in contact tracing in case of an outbreak in our community. Members will be part of a tracking list as we may have to provide member details to Health Services.

We will continue to abide by the recommendations set out by the government and local health units. Protocols are subject to change based on the requirements.

We ask that if you or the person(s) you live with are experiencing any cold- or flu-like symptoms OR if you have travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days that you stay home to minimize the risk of community exposure. If you have any questions, please contact us at 613-253-2112.
