Specialty Yoga Programs

In keeping with our mission to provide our community the freedom to define what yoga means to them and to create a space that supports the journey inward, we regularly host yoga programs that encourage individuals to develop and evolve their own practice. Here’s what we have scheduled at our Carleton Place yoga studio.

Chair Yoga Begins October 18
Our Chair Yoga series covers many common yoga postures while using the support of a chair. This series not only build confidence for new yoga practitioners but also builds a foundation of poses and movements that can be practiced anywhere, anytime. Attend all four sessions or drop-in as your schedule allows. The cost of the full four-week program is $60.00 +hst. The drop-in price is $17.50 +hst. This one-hour class takes place on Fridays at 12:30pm from October 18 through November 8. Download the poster.

Ashtanga Series Workshop: October 27
Are you looking to challenge your yoga practice? Are you looking to build strength and improve alignment? If you are, join Julia for a 2.5-hour Ashtanga Primary Series workshop. Throughout the workshop, we practice the primary series, which is the first series created by Pattabhi Jois and is the most commonly taught. Julia guides you through the series and offers both modifications and the use of props. This series covers a wide range of poses including twists, standing balance poses, hip openers, inversions, breathing techniques, and much more. This workshop is open to all levels of yoga students. The workshop runs Sunday, October 27 from 1:00pm – 3:30pm. The cost is $40 +hst (includes handouts). Register in person at Heritage Fitness or online using our MindBody app.

Yoga Foundations: Coming Soon
Learn the foundations of yoga in three 90-minute sessions. The intention of this program is to give beginners an understanding of the breath, how it links movement, and correct structural alignment in each pose, including appropriate modifications to suit the individual. This knowledge will empower you to practice yoga with confidence in your own ability to safely modify the practice according to your own personal needs. We have mats and blocks. All we need is you!
